Medical Malpractice ~ Failure to Diagnose
Failure to Diagnose
It is no secret that our nation's health care system is not perfect. And with managed care organizations like HMOs wielding so much influence over the process, essentially giving physicians an incentive to treat patients as cheaply as possible, it is no surprise that serious illnesses are not always diagnosed as early as they could be. When this occurs with a disease such as pancreatic cancer that does not have an effective medical treatment, there is little consequence. But when the diagnosis of a disease like lung cancer is missed and treatment is delayed, people who might have otherwise lived do not.
