Auto Accidents in Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC

Three people died last week in a crash that involved a motorcycle and three other vehicles. Myrtle Beach police said several other people were injured and transported to a hospital after a wreck that closed down the intersection of Robert Grissom Parkway and Executive Avenue.

In another multi-vehicle accident northwest of Conway on the same day, one person was killed. Horry County Fire Rescue emergency personnel rescued two people who were trapped in their vehicles, and they and one other person were transported to an area hospital.

Unfortunately, we will be hearing more stories like these as the weather warms, students go on summer break, and more tourists flock to the area. In addition to summer vacationers, motorcyclists will hit the beach in droves for next week's Myrtle Beach Bike Week Spring Rally from May 11-20 and Atlantic Beach Bikefest 2018, also known as Black Bike Week, May 25-28.

Why Personal Injury Auto Accident Lawsuits are Necessary

The survivors of car wrecks often face a tough recovery. Auto accidents are violent, chaotic events and thousands of people suffer debilitating injuries on South Carolina roads each year, including traumatic brain injuries, broken limbs, internal bleeding, spine injuries, and organ damage.

The other driver has no intention of paying your medical bills or compensating you for the pain that they caused. In most cases, it is left up to their insurance company - a corporation that is incapable of caring about your pain, suffering, and finances, and whose true purpose is to make as much money as possible for its owners.

If you have been injured because of another driver's negligence, the Myrtle Beach auto accident attorneys at Axelrod and Associates will help you investigate the crash, negotiate with the insurance company, and file a personal injury lawsuit to recover damages to help pay for your recovery, including future medical costs, pain and suffering, psychological trauma, and other financial losses.

Auto and Motorcycle Accident Wrongful Death Lawsuits

More than 1,000 people died on South Carolina's roads in 2016, including nearly 200 people who were riding motorcycles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Their families have faced a difficult period of grieving, major life adjustments, and financial burdens. While the courts cannot turn back the clock and return our loved ones to us, South Carolina's legal system does offer families a way to get the money they need to deal with their loss. And, make no mistake, when a loved one dies in a car crash, there are often steep financial costs.

All too often, fatal accidents are the result of a driver's negligence. When a driver fails to act with the level of care that a reasonable, prudent person would have exercised in a similar situation, they can be held liable for any death that results - whether they were speeding, driving drunk, texting while driving, or experiencing road rage.

Damages in a Wrongful Death Auto Accident Lawsuit

If the at-fault driver was negligent, loved ones can file a wrongful death lawsuit to recover damages for:

  • Funeral costs;
  • Medical expenses incurred after the accident;
  • Loss of the deceased's earnings;
  • Loss of companionship;
  • Pain and suffering; and
  • Punitive damages when the accident was caused by gross negligence or an intentional act.
