Alexander “Alec” Gerred is an associate attorney for Axelrod & Associates, P.A. with a practice that focuses on criminal defense and includes civil litigation, business law, family law, and probate matters. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Alec brings a diverse and client-focused approach to his legal work that is grounded in both academic achievement and practical experience.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. In 2019, Alec received his Master of Arts in Securities and Intelligence from the University of Akron. During his time there, he demonstrated strong leadership by serving as President of the Graduate Student Government as well as a member of the University Council.
Alec went on to attend Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina where he was an active member of the Transactional Law Advocacy Team. He was named to the Dean’s List for three semesters and earned his Juris Doctor in 2022.
Committed to service beyond his practice, Alec provides pro bono legal assistance to the Unionville Tavern in Ohio where he reviews contracts related to historical preservation and restoration efforts in the community. Alec is also a member of the “St. Edward’s Legal Eagles” and is an assistant coach of his high school’s mock trial team and also acts as a volunteer judge. He also dedicates his efforts to the communities surrounding Charlotte, Northing Carolina as a member of the Charlotte Young Professional Group.
Alec is licensed to practice law in both South Carolina and North Carolina and is a member of the respective state bars. Outside of his legal work, he enjoys playing in a Charlotte men’s ice hockey league and spending time on the golf course.
