Can i Afford a Myrtle Beach Auto Accident Lawyer?
Axelrod & Associates, P.A.

In most cases, you do not have to pay anything to retain your personal injury lawyer at Axelrod & Associates, P.A. We will provide a free consultation to review your case. If we accept your case, it will ordinarily be on a contingency fee basis, and you do not pay any attorney fees unless we win your case through a settlement or jury verdict.

Free Consultation

When you contact us to set up your free consultation, we will meet with you free of charge. At your initial consultation, we will begin the process of determining if you have a valid case and gathering the evidence we will need to prove your case. Our fee agreement will clearly define the attorney fees and what you are responsible for such as expert fees and the contingency fee which are payable only at the end of the case after we have recovered your money from the at-fault driver.

Contingency Fees

The standard contingency fee in most auto accident cases is 1/3 of the recovery. The attorney fees are payable at the end of the case and only if we win the case through a settlement or verdict at trial. Unlike other types of cases where the attorney charges an up-front retainer and bills hourly fees or charges an up-front flat fee amount, personal injury attorneys will generally charge a contingency fee. This allows a person who has been injured to get representation and seek justice regardless of their financial circumstances. It also motivates your attorney to seek full compensation on your behalf and not leave any money on the table because the amount of the attorney’s compensation is proportional to the amount of your recovery. Under a contingency fee arrangement, your attorney is invested in the outcome of your case.

Court costs and experts

In most cases, you will not have to pay court costs or the costs of expert witnesses until the end of your case when the costs will be deducted from the amount of your recovery. The costs that will be incurred vary depending on the facts of the case, the type and severity of the injuries, whether it is necessary to file suit, the amount of depositions that must be taken, and whether the case goes to trial. Although costs vary from case to case, common expenses may include fees for expert witnesses who are necessary to prove liability or damages, court reporter fees for depositions of witnesses, filing fees, costs of serving witnesses, and other expenses that are necessary to prove your case and recover full compensation for your injuries.

If you or someone you know has been injured in an auto accident, schedule a free consultation with a Myrtle Beach personal injury lawyer on the Axelrod team. Call us at 843-353-3449 or fill out our contact form today.
